I have begun to suspect that they are some kind of magical curse. They are small, cobalt-blue creatures with large ears. It is dropped by a slain Kobold when a player attempts to enter a locked area. Unlike other Kobolds, this one has a whopping 1024 (x 512) health; the highest health of all entities in the Twilight Forest. They have a tendency to spawn in large groups or packs and will attack the player on sight, often teaming up on a player to defeat him/her. It will spawn almost anywhere that is dark within the Twilight Forest dimension and tends to spawn in large groups. In small numbers or with fairly competent tools and armor (even the most basic will get the job done when fighting Kobolds) Kobolds are no threat to the player. Strangely, my divinations do not show signs of any nearby living wizards.
