The DR200 is a dud in its segment a Yamaha XT250 would be a good choice for a regular tire'd bike for you. Post was not sent - check your email addresses! what are your opinions on them. That suspension travel is meant to be there, so I like the approach of buying one that fits you out of the factory.The VanVan has an amazing seat but that's about it.The t-dub is awesome,probably has the best aftermarket segment and will last you forever.If you want something that really punches above it's weight, look at the drz400 - lowering links are also a thing.If you want something that can handle rolling hills without slowing down, really, that would be none of the choices (for me anyways but one of me is probably 2 of you). haha The closest vanvan to me is about an hour away..im really excited to get a new again hobby, you will have a hard time getting me off of anything i get ;)I rode the VanVan at a demo day a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. And at the speeds a TW will travel you actualy get to my little 12 hp TW will go any place in the desert that I want to go, then up any mountain road or trail then down the highway back to the park or into town to pick up supplies then to the dairy queen in any part of the country, can't do that on any other bike or ATV or truck.I own a DR650 and a TW.

I think realistically i will be on the road more than the dirt (especially right now) so trying to figure out if all the pros for dirt are actually what i need, i really like all the info on the vanvan but its super unknown at this point, only been produced in the us since 2017...my big hangup right now is seat height, im not able to go too high yet..the vanvan offers the lowest seat @ 30.5F9 created an excellent review, if you haven't seen it.thank you for the info!
2018 Suzuki DR 200S vs. 2018 Yamaha TW 200. If you are going to be mostly pavement and dirt roads/light off-roading go with the VanVan sense that seams to be what your heart wants and let's face it, motorcycle choice should be more emotional than practical.this is so helpful!! The DR has more fork travel, which seems like a good thing. XTs are good too, my friend rides a 350 and we both like it.
It reminds me of all the bikes in the 70s. I've also read the DR hates going 60, and the TW might be able too.The XT I bought had a larger jet put in the carb, which allowed it to start without the choke on most warm days. The only way the Common Good can be raised is to sow it in the rich soil of Liberty. I liked it, but it wasn't practical for the riding I wanted to do.

I don't really care for the TW200 or DR200, more interested in the CRF250L (cheap and Honda keeps improving it, dual spark and direct injection next year, shortish seat height) and DR-Z400S (more power than the WR250R for the same price new). I just have this insatiable itch now, I want to go faster and I want to go over more difficult terrain, ride on some dirt through the woods.Right now I've been looking at the DR200 and TW200 as well as the KLX250S, XT250 or WR250R. Back to your question, I like the VanVan but the TW also looks fun. You can definitely get used to a taller seat if you want to but I understand wanting to start on something lower.I would say if you want to be able to do much trail riding go with the TW. I think you'd be a really good candidate for the Vanvan.
