Hi Jeremy, thanks for the reply, inside the dispenser are a couple micro switches, based on your reply I think one or more of the micro switches has gotten sticky (often from splashes from drinks while getting ice) A good cleaning tip is to unplug the unit and spray rubbing alcohol up into the dispenser upper section (gentle spray or misting) allow drying time before reapplying power,(2-3 hours) this will clean the micro switches. But before you remove the dispenser's cover panel to access the workings inside, consider a shorter and easier route to diagnose the problem. I know you all know this but mold grows in wet environments. Everything I could find showed that it was the main control board so I replaced it and that did not fix it. The only way to get it to stop is to open the freezer door or push the Lock button on the display panel. Side-by-side refrigerators do have lots of freezer and fridge storage. I've taken it apart a couple of times, cleaned it out, and tried spraying lithium grease and Liquid Wrench "Dry Lubricant" in there. I have a LG refrigerator model #LMX28987ST. Everything I could find showed that it was the main control board so I replaced it and that did not fix it. Check the water filter.
