Tyler Perry pulls in a good family story that will have you smiling at the end.
I could tell right off this was a Tyler Perry movie, as it strongly resembles some of his past efforts. I had the opportunity to see The Family that Preys this weekend, this is my second Tyler Perry movie, to be honest from what I've seen, I think I may check out his other movies, because I do like what I've seen so far.
The Evans family is headed by hardworking middle classed Alice Pratt Evans (Alfre Woodard) who is the mother of two daughters, Andrea (Sanaa Lathan) and Pam (Taraji P. Henson).
Well, I don't see many films where characters are that unique. Yes it was refreshing to see middle class black families intermingling w/ whites and the closeness between Alice and Charlotte. were all fantastic). As far as affairs go, it seems a bit unrealistic that they would be so sloppy in covering up their indiscretion. Alice’s commitment to her faith is a moral grounding in the film because she serves as a sort of angel to Charlotte, encouraging her to embrace God and all of his beauties.
The Invisible Man ending helps establish Blumhouse's remake as one of the year's scariest movies - and it's full of twists and turns that may confuse some viewers.
Jillian then confronts Andrea in the hotel room where trysts with William were held each Wednesday, and warns her to stay away from her family. She tells him that the money is bonuses she received from William and that she has the right to some privacy from her spouse. This film has a lesson for everyone to take heed of, whether it be having faith, ceasing attempts to bring misery to another’s life, or just living life to the fullest. What I find interesting about the most negative reviews of participants who contributed is how trite many of them are.

The film raises the question, “Are you living or just existing?” Another moral of the story forms with this road trip the women take; I think the point was to stress that, in life, you should not just exist because you have to, you need to live because you want to.

A little stuffy, but still, so good. Woodard's arc is grand.
There's a few "very interesting" sub-plots but I won't give it away. Was this review helpful? In some ways this was the female version of The Bucket List, even as it was hard to watch, it was still an incredibly moving movie.
What makes Alternate Ending different from other film sites and podcasts? A lot of restraint (no one swears in the film, for example) and non-preachy religious themes.
The Family That Preys. Definitely recommended. It twists your sentiments and thoughts in such a way I never thought was possible, by way of film. His "body of work" sucks!! 31 out of 50 found this helpful.
I am so sick of my brethren (yes...I'm Black) b**ching about why "we" all don't back Tyler. I'm hoping that he will realize his strengths and see that he doesn't have to cram five story lines into one movie, because this weakens the individual story lines. Sorry, I wouldn't invest in his "dream company" either, but this also gives credence to the fact as to why his wife might be embarrassed of him. This movie was seriously crazy. ...just loved it. I am an avid film buff and every now and then I find great satisfaction from an unassumingly simple story... and if you have any of the following: in-laws, spouse, family problems, money issues--then this movie will lift you up, inspire you, and leave you feeling like life is gonna be okay.
